Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival: Play Schedule

The famous Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival, well known for its various plays, was inaugurated in the city on 17th November at Salar Jung Museum.  The world class theatre and a tribute to a doyen is scheduled to happen in the city from November 18th to November 25th 2013. The venues for the festival are The Trident, Salar Jung Museum, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Alliance Française. This year’s theme is Love Stories; from Period to Modern to Tragic to Comic and Mythological. Here is a schedule of plays that will be enacted in the festival.

November 18th, 2013
Venue: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Auditorium (Basheerbagh)
Play: Primetime Theatre Co’s ‘9 Parts of Desire’
American playwright Heather Raffo’s Broadway hit.
Director:  Lillette Dubey
Language/ Duration: English / 75 minutes

 

November 19th, 2013
Venue: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Auditorium (Basheerbagh)
Play: Katyayani’s ‘Miss Julie’
Strindberg’s classic of dark love.
Director: Sohaila Kapur
Language/ Duration: English / 90 minutes (Only for audiences above 16 years)

Play: Seagull Repertory’s ‘Hansini – Five Tons of Love’
Based on Anton Chekhov’s ‘The Seagull’.
Director: Baharul Islam & Bhagirathi
Language/ Duration: Hindi+Assamese / 90 minutes

Venue: Alliance Francaise (Aurora Colony, Road no: 3, Banjara Hills)
Timings:  10 am to 2 pm.

A rip-roaring comic extra-marital love tale.
