Label Ritu Kumar has launched their Spring Summer 2014 Collection with a complete range designed by noted French designer Samy Chalon. The collection encompasses garments that blend French fashion sensibilities with classic Label Ritu Kumar design and aesthetics.
With a variety of dresses, tops, tunics in summery hues such as turquoise, navy blue, off white, yellow, rust and the intricate use of lace, nets and embellishments, the collection has drawn inspiration from Indian prints and techniques.
Talking about the collection Samy says, “I have always been very attracted by new experiences like designing bathing suits and beachwear for ERES, fur collections for REVILLON or exploring different markets like COMPTOIRS DES COTONNIERS. Working for an Indian brand is a new and exciting challenge. India inspires many rich and strong images and I have tried to use all the enchanting tradition and “savior faire” of Indian culture to create modern clothes for today’s women.”
“We are extremely happy with this association with Samy and we see ‘Label’ evolving as a fashion brand for young urban India by bringing together international fashion and Indian aesthetics. We hope to reach out to the discerning urban Indian women customer with this new line.” says Amrish Kumar, Creative Director, Ritu Kumar.
