The Big Door, a luxury furniture store, has recently been declared as the “Retail Launch of the Year” by India’s Economic Times Retail Award for its unique retail options.
The business, launched in October 2013, is based in Mumbai’s ritzy Pali Hill neighborhood and caters to its clientele by offering luxury jewelry and furniture inspired by Northern India’s Mughal history. Items range from customized jewelry to statues and artifacts brought directly from Udaipur.
“It’s a proud moment for us at The Big Door for having bagged this prestigious award by Economic Times. This indeed is a great motivation for a fresh brand like us who is barely six months old in the business to be recognised amongst renowned global players in the retail space,” Vivek Gupta, one of the founders of the shop, said in a press release.
This is the fourth year of the competition held by ET along with the Retailers Association of India. Other winners of the competition included Cafe Coffee Day’s founder VG Siddhartha and Shopper’s Stop, a chain of department stores across India. The awards were held last week.
