Following colossal performances by Modeselektor in December last year, alongside the inspiring and informative Info Sessions hosted by the duo, Red Bull Music Academy has continued to make a firm and influential mark on the burgeoning alternative music scene in India. February marked the international premier and exclusive screening of award winning director Ralf Schmerberg’s full length feature film ‘What Difference Does It Make?’ hosted in Mumbai, celebrating the 15th anniversary of RBMA. RBMA are now gearing up for a four-city tour around India with one of the Academy’s most undercover and forward thinking electronica aficionados: Red Bull Music Academy is proud to present the debut Indian tour of Welsh born techno don, Benjamin Damage.

May 25 Over The Moon, Hyderabad
Benjamin’s sonic sci-fi techno captures the nostalgia of old school dance classics and the futuristic beats and bass of today. Having participated at the New York edition of the Red Bull Music Academy in 2013, here’s what he had to share about his experience:
“It was very exciting to be involved in RBMA. The people there are extremely passionate about music and they created a perfect environment to be creative and find new ideas with the studios and amazingly talented people they brought in. Hearing the guest lecturers is very inspiring and gives you confidence to keep doing your own thing and not worry about what anyone else is doing. I think that’s the most important thing I’ve learnt from being there.”
The first ever artist to be signed to Modeselektor’s iconic 50 Weapons label back in 2010, Benjamin Damage has collaborated with Swansea home boy Doc Daneeka resulting in singles like ‘Creeper’, and the widely acclaimed full length album – ‘They! Live’. His debut solo album ‘Heliosphere’ was also highly rated by critics worldwide and ‘010x’ was described as “track of the summer”.
As a DJ, Benjamin has performed at some of the biggest festivals in the world including Movement in Detroit, Sonar and Melt!, sharing the stage with Giorgio Moroder in New York and performing at Berlin’s legendary techno club Berghain.
We’re thrilled to be able to showcase this dance music powerhouse, with his massive beats and ineffable techno sounds.
This is one artist you need to feel live.
