Virasat 2014, a two-day cultural fest hosted by the English and foreign Language University in collaboration with SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) concluded recently. The final day of the fest was marked by the scintillating performancesof Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant and the Warsi brothers.
Dr Jayant, an acclaimed Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dancer, along with her troupe enthralled the audience with her dance recital. Later, Nazeer Ahmed Khan Warsi and NAseer Ahmed Khan Warsi, mesmerised the audience with their Qawwalis. The audience was transported into a world of trance by artists as they enchanted them with their unique art forms native ti Indian heritage.
The cultural fest had started off at EFLU, with Prasad Rao IPS (DGP, Gov. of AP) inaugurated the event. The evening saw a lively Mohan Veena recital by Pt. Vishva Mohan Bhatt, who was accompanied by Pt. Ram Kumar Mishra on the Tabla.
